Agriculture is the Backbone of National Economy of Nepal

Agriculture is the strong backbone of Nepal’s economy. Just like a spine holds up a body, agriculture holds up Nepal. Nepal is predominantly an agricultural society and a significant portion of the population are engaged in farming. The agricultural sector profoundly influences the country’s economy.

Nepal has a diversified land, but most of its terrain are valleys, hills, and mountains. This makes it challenging to grow cash crops in the hill country. However, the Terai region is good for growing cash crops like rice, wheat, maize because it’s flat and has good soil. On the other hand, the mountains are great for growing fruits like apples and oranges.

Agriculture doesn’t just give us food, it also helps us generate income. We can sell the extra things we grow and earn money for our families. Many people in Nepal depend on farming for their jobs and income. This makes agriculture very important for our economy.

But there are some problems, too. Sometimes, we don’t have enough rain or water for our crops, or the weather doesn’t cooperate. Sadly, Nepal’s farming is still largely a subsistence farming model. Therefore, farmers need new technology, tools and ways to help them grow more and better crops.

In conclusion, agriculture is really important for Nepal. It gives us food, jobs, and money. Our country’s economy relies on agriculture, just like we rely on our backbone to stand tall.ESSAY
