7 Guidelines for Writing a Dialog:

  2. Before each dialog, write the name of each speaker on the left followed by a COLON.
    • Don’t write the dialogue underneath the name of the speaker.
  3.  Although dialogues are written in direct speech, there are no inverted commas.
  4. Leave a line before each dialog.
    •  NOTE: write minimum 12 dialogs.
  5. Punctuation marks can be used to show tone, e.g. Hi! Wow! Really?.
  6.  Write down any extra information, such as the speaker’s actions or tone of voice, in parentheses ( ) before their words are spoken, e.g. (sadly, angrily, happily).
  7.  After the dialog ends, close with the end of the context in parentheses ( ).
