Dialog 2: Hotel Front Desk

Q. You are a front-desk officer at a hotel. Welcome a guest. Write a dialog. [6]

(A guest arrives at the reception lobby of a hotel in Kathmandu.)

FDO (front desk officer): ( With a smile) Good afternoon, sir. Can I help you?

G (guest): Good afternoon. May I talk to Ms. Dahal?

FDO: Of course, you may. I’m Sunita Dahal, a front-desk officer.

G: Oh, that’s great! Nice to meet you, Ms. Dahal. My friend, Joseph, referred me to visit you and arrange my accommodation at this hotel.

(The lady looks rather excited; she smiles at her excitement.)

FDO: Oh, I see. Mr. Joseph always stays at ours when he’s in Kathmandu.

G: So, I’d like to have a deluxe room, at most for a week.

FDO: Well, alright. We’d be glad to serve you as you wish.

G: And, Ms. Dahal, I think I’ll invite some of my guests and organize meetings at least twice within a week. Do you also have a meeting hall?

FDO: (Happily) Definitely! But, you may have to bear a small amount of additional charge for the hall.

G: Oh, Sure. What’s the charge?

FDO: It’s $10US per hour. It’s 50% off for our guests.

G: That sounds fnatastic! Please make sure to reserve the hall for two hours on Monday and Wednesday this week.

FDO: Yes, I will do that for you. Now, shall we see your room?

G: Of course! Thank you so much.

(Both of them move towards the room.)
